Our Story

A Community Built on Faith, Friendship & Purpose

Deenya was born from a simple idea — that practising Muslims deserve a dignified, curated space to meet potential life partners. Not through swipes or algorithms, but through real shared experiences.

The name Deenya is a fusion of two Arabic words: Deen (faith, religion) and Dunya (the world, life). It captures our belief that a fulfilling life is one where your spiritual values and worldly experiences are in harmony.

Halal Interactions Only

All communication within Deenya must be respectful, modest, and in line with Islamic etiquette. No inappropriate messaging or behaviour is tolerated.

Wali Involvement Welcome

We fully support and encourage the involvement of a wali (guardian) in the process. Our events are designed to be comfortable for all involved.

Privacy & Discretion

What happens in Deenya stays in Deenya. Members' personal information, photos, and conversations are treated with the utmost discretion.

Verified Members Only

Every member is manually reviewed before joining. We maintain a high standard to ensure the community remains genuine, serious, and safe.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Harassment, disrespect, or any behaviour contrary to Islamic values results in immediate removal. We take the safety of our members seriously.

Everything you need to know before joining Deenya.

Yes — joining the Deenya WhatsApp community is completely free. Some premium events (such as our exclusive dinners) may have a small cost to cover the venue and food, but membership itself is always free.

Our events are attended by both brothers and sisters. However, all events are conducted in a halal, respectful manner. We do not facilitate one-on-one private meetings — all interactions are in a group setting. Wali involvement is welcomed and encouraged.

Deenya is open to practising Muslim singles who are genuinely seeking a life partner for marriage. We welcome Muslims of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and sects. The only requirements are that you are single, Muslim, and serious about finding a spouse.

Events are announced in the WhatsApp group with full details. Members RSVP directly in the group. For dinners, we typically have 8–12 people at a carefully selected halal restaurant. For hikes, groups are larger (15–30). All events are organised and supervised by the Deenya team.

Deenya is not a dating app. We are a real-world community. We believe the best connections happen face-to-face, in a natural, halal environment — not through swiping on a screen. Our events are designed to let you meet people organically, the way our parents' generation did, but adapted for modern British Muslim life.

Absolutely. Your personal details, photos, and conversations are treated with complete discretion. Profile information on the website is only visible to verified members. We never share your data with third parties.

We currently run active chapters in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Leeds, with Edinburgh and Bristol launching soon. Even if your city isn't listed, join the WhatsApp group — we're expanding rapidly and may be coming to your area soon.

Yes, absolutely. We fully support and encourage wali involvement. Please let us know in advance if you'd like to bring a wali to an event so we can accommodate accordingly. We want every member to feel comfortable and safe.
